In the mid-90's, Master Brewer Mark Thompson returned to his native Virginia from Portland, OR, having learned two things: First, that the craft of artisanal brewing was one part science and one part art; and second, that making delicious beer was a lot cooler than anything he had ever done as a biology student. After several years of apprenticing with other master brewers, Mark was ready to begin crafting beer using his own recipes. Named after the local neighborhood, Starr Hill, the brewery shared its histori building with the legendary Starr Hill Music Hall, and it was there that Mark's delicious craft beers became a favorite to visiting beer lovers, musicians, and music fans from around the world. Fourteen prestigious awards later, Mark¹s brews continue to be a hit at beer and music festivals nationwide. Starr Hill's house and seasonal brews are now enjoyed in restaurants and music clubs throughout the Mid Atlantic and Southeast, and are also available at many grocery and convenience stores in the region. Mark is proud of the awards his microbrews have earned, and the experts agree that he is among the best craft brewers in the country. But at the end of the day, what still matters most to Mark and his team of brewers at Starr Hill is giving people the gift of great beer. |

BLUE MOUNTAIN BREWERY BEER GARDEN Nelson County's first brewery sits in the shadow of Appalachia's Blue Ridge Mountains in Afton, Virginia. We are a farm brewery, growing our own hops, and proudly craft real American beer inspired by thousands of years of tradition but not limited by convention. Our original restaurant and brewery completed a 5,000 square foot expansion in September, 2011, adding spacious new inside seating, balcony and beer garden seating, a new serpentine bar, and a larger kitchen to handle the beer lovers that visit our neck of the woods. Also in September 2011 we are breaking ground on the first of our two production brewery projects, Blue Mountain Barrel House and Organic Brewery, also in Nelson County. The Barrel House will focus on our barrel-aged and bottle-conditioned lines of beer, such as Dark Hollow, and will also brew draft-only versions of our popular Full Nelson and Kolsch 151 to meet the surging demand for Blue Mountain Beer. Look for our distribution network to expand statewide by early spring, 2012! |

Boylan Heights is a gourmet burger bar located on The Corner across from the University of Virginia and the UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. The interior is contemporary, casual, clean and comfortable with plenty of seating downstairs as well as dining tables and a lounge area upstairs. We feature 20 large HDTVs strategically placed to maximize vantage points throughout the restaurant. Looking for a specific MLB or NFL game? We get them all! Just ask a server or bartender for your game and they will do their best to accommodate you. We offer only the finest organic beef from Virginia farms supplied by The Organic Butcher, located right here in Charlottesville. The meat is dry aged to further deepen the flavor and our beef is fresh ground daily. It is naturally raised Angus, hormone and anti-biotic free, grass fed and most importantly … healthy. We also hold the same standards for our turkey burger. It’s extremely lean and high in protein and still maintains the essential juicy, mouth watering taste. Our veggie burger is hand crafted here at Boylan Heights. It is made from quinoa, fresh black beans, fresh corn, grilled zucchini, roasted tomatoes, and fresh herbs. Our menu suggests our favorite burgers and sandwiches. However, you are more than welcome to use our Scantron sheet menus to build your own beef burger, veggie burger, or chicken sandwich by selecting any combination of our 50 toppings! Salads? Always fresh and always delicious. Desserts? Decadent! Try the amazing “The Five Dollar Shake” (which is actually $4!). We love our prep school theme throughout the restaurant but don’t worry, there are no tests, no quizzes, no grades, just quality American food made the best way we know how. |

Located on Charlottesville's bustling historic downtown pedestrian mall, Rapture Restaurant and Night Club is the center of downtown nightlife and a Charlottesville institution. LTo begin with, there’s the food. Rapture’s cuisine not only features local ingredients, but local flavor as well: chef Chris Humphrey specializes in Southern Cookin’, riffing on the cuisine of his Virginia upbringing by bringing his extensive French culinary and haute cuisine experience to bear on familiar southern classics. The resultant creole, soul, and low country gourmet dishes are made even more delicious by Chef’s use of fine ingredients and local sources. Round out your delicious Southern meal with a craft beer from our formidable selection, which includes rare and specialty items and an impressive draft selection, or with a bottle of wine from our extensive cellar, and you will have no doubt why Rapture has remained a popular destination for well over a decade. LBut there’s even more to enjoy. Rapture’s swank bar and billiards room make it the place to gather and meet. Antique details and wrought iron work reminiscent of old New Orleans give the space warmth; excellent service provided by an award-winning staff make for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. And of course there’s R2, the chic Dance Club with architectural elegance, mod furnishings, and state-of-the-art lights, sound and video. With the best local, regional, and national DJs spinning a variety of styles, free entrance and drink specials for the early crowd, it's no wonder this is the place where Charlottesville's hip, young professionals go to get their groove on. |

If we could choose one word that describes the Timberwood Grill philosophy (and we can do that… it’s ours after all), it would be family. Sure, we have kid’s menus and crayons and the yellow pages might list us as “family friendly,” but it goes further than that. And no, we’re not talking about the Sopranos here, nor are we going to “make you an offer you can’t refuse.” Our philosophy is simply this: the moment you walk in the front door, you become more than a vendor, or employee, or customer. You join the Timberwood family, and our goal is to treat you as such from that point forward. |
